January 20, 1922   –   November 5, 2019

The family of Arthur Thomas Snuggs wish to announce his passing on November 5, 2019. Dad was a loving husband to our mom, Jean, and father to Sharon (Gary) Lacey, Jim (Louise) Snuggs, Kelly Waage, John (Kathleen) Snuggs and Elaine (Rick) Thompson.  He also has 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren who will dearly mss their grandpa, great grandpa and big papa.  Dad was predeceased by his wife Jean, son Jim, and son-in-law Gary.

Dad was born on January 20, 1922 and grew up in a large family in Brandon, Manitoba. He served in Britain during World War 2 and married mom in Trail, BC on his return in 1944.  They lived in Rossland while the kids were growing up and moved to Christina Lake after retirement.  Dad loved his retirement and spent many hours with friends golfing, bowling, swimming and, of course, having happy hour!  We will all miss Dad’s fun loving ways and ability to turn a phrase to get a smile.

Our family would like to thank Sue and John Turco and the staff at Mountainside Village, the home support workers who helped him there with his day to day life and the kind and caring staff at Castleview Care Centre who made Dad’s last home a safe and welcoming environment for him and our family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 16, 2019 at the Rossland Legion. Please join us there to say goodbye to our dear dad.  Our wish to honour him is for everyone who knew him to take the time to share a joke, have a laugh and make someone smile.

Jordan Wren of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
