Bill Ben Jmaeff
With sad hearts and deepest sorrow, the family of Bill Jmaeff wishes to announce his passing, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Kootenay Lake Hospital on Thursday, October 17, 2013, blessed with 75 years of life.
Bill was born in Nelson on November 16, 1937 to parents Mary and Bill Jmaeff. In 1961, he married Vera Soobotin and they raised three children. Bill’s working career was in the construction industry and he was proud to be a 50 year member of the Labourers’ and Construction Workers’ Union, Local 1611. He spent his free time in his shop, tinkering with anything that he could fix. Bill enjoyed taking care of his large yard and garden and going gambling with his wife Vera.
He was predeceased by his daughter Natalie in 1962, his mother Mary in 1976, his sister Mary Sherstobitoff in 2003 and his father Bill in 2011.

Arrangements were in care of Castlegar Funeral Chapel.
“HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY ALL WHO LOVED HIM.”
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and all the medical staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital, Castlegar Funeral Chapel, the grave-diggers, the singers, to Mike Kanigan for officiating the service and to all the people who attended the funeral.Print Obituary & Condolences
