It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Alexander Plotnikoff, of Castlegar, B.C.

John was born in Brilliant B.C on May 26th, 1936 and passed away July 10th, 2020, at the age of 84.

He was the fourth of five children, of Alice and Alex Plotnikoff of Castlegar, B.C.

John was predeceased by his parents, brother Alec, and sisters Mary and Verna.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Katie, of 58 years and his brother Walter Plotnikoff of Castlegar, B.C.

John has two daughters, Sandra (Dennis) of Vernon B.C., and Lisa of Calgary, Alberta. John was very proud of his grandchildren, Reid and Desarae.

John had a rewarding career of 35 years, with School District #9, as a teacher and principal,  in the Castlegar and surrounding areas.

He spoke often of the many joys and challenges he had while he worked as an educator.

In retirement years, John, enjoyed many pass times, including hanging out at the Castlegar Bookstore and Chances Casino, where “he was always going to win the big one!”

John did win the big one, in life!

He touched many peoples’ lives, and he will be remembered for his quick sense of humor and his infectious laugh.

Rest in Peace John, we will forever remember you and keep you close in our hearts.

As per John’s wishes, there will be no service.
