Juan Rywaczuk

Rywaczuk Juan obit pic

 December 15, 1939 – June 15, 2019

Juan Rywaczuk was born in 1939 in Montevideo, Uruguay to his parents Cirilo and Olga Rywaczuk.  Juan was the third youngest of seven siblings.

Juan’s life was not easy. At the age of 11 he had to help his dad lay parquet floors. In 1972 he met Sonia Gevatkoff, and in 1974 they got married. In 1976 they lost their first son after birth. Their family quickly grew, and they had three sons Victor, Vania and Daniel. They settled and made their home in Krestova.  Harry Malloff was his first employer (building Homes and cabinets).  A short time later he joined the concrete mason union, and quickly after that started his very own business finishing concrete. After many years he noticed hardwood flooring was becoming very popular. He then incorporated his skills to lay, sand, and finish wood flooring, and was able to expand and sell the material making it a career. Juan and Sonya separated in 1999. He continued to live in the area but moved to Thrums in 2001 and started a retail flooring store where he sold product to the public.

Juan enjoyed gardening, looking after fruit trees and most of all fishing. He was a generous man who was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Juan lived with Daniel for the last 11 months, his last six days were at Talarico Place where he found comfort.

Thank you very much to all the staff of Talarico Place for your caregiving, at home and in treatment.

Juan leaves behind three sons, Victor and wife Dixie, Vania and wife Jamie, and Daniel, six grandchildren who he loved very much, Victoria, Sophie, and Ava, Jennifer and husband Steve, Raymond and partner Sierra, Taylor and fiancé John, and many more nieces and nephews.

Papa, we find comfort knowing that your physical pain is no more. We will deeply miss you and always love you and grateful for all the time we had with you. Rest in Peace.
