Woodman Maria July

March 28 1957- July 14 2021

It is with deep sadness that family and friends mourn the recent passing of Maria Helen Woodman (nee Cschi) after a five-month battle with cancer.

Maria Woodman is survived by her loving husband Wade Woodman, her mother Maria (Zoltan) Kiss, her father Anthony (Yvonne) Cschi, brother Joe (Michelle) Bognar, her only child, Steven (Christina) Poitras and her four grandsons, Caleb, Jayden, Ethan and Ryder. Maria was predeceased by her stepfather, Steven (Istvan) Bognar.

Maria was born in Budapest, Hungary and shortly after her birth moved to Australia until 10 years of age. She lived in Hamilton, Ontario until she moved out west where she lived most of her life until her passing in Castlegar B.C.

Maria’s talents, skills and attainments rivalled Martha Stewart in every category ranging all aspects of visual arts, culinary prowess, horticulture, construction, renovation to include tiling and flooring, and even the healing arts. She was a tour deforce.

Everyone who’s path Maria graced were blessed to have her in their lives. Maria Helen Woodman will be forever loved and forever cherished.

A special thank you for the Local Community Home Care team that helped Maria & I at home and all Trail Hospital Staff Especially Unit 300.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Calgary, Alberta.

Maria and I would appreciate any donations to New Life Church Castlegar “Operation Feast” would be helpful for the Castlegar Community.

E-Transfers ( office@castlegarnewlife.ca [1]) addressed to Operation Feast.

Condolence from Michelle Cherrington on July 16th, 2021 10:56 am

Dear Wade and Family,
I offer you all my utmost Sincerest condolences and Heartfelt sympathies in the the passing of your Beloved Wife, Mom & Grandmom. I only met Maria a couple years ago at the Friday night’s Ladies Bible study at the New Life Church in the Fireside room.
Maria had a heart that was filled with and exuded love to everyone including me. I loved her videos that she would share on Facebook of the weather be it thunderstorms or a newly fallen blanket of white snow.
I will miss her soft, warm voice that could wrap you up safe in a warm blanket. Just know that the Angels in Heaven trumpeted her return to her Heavenly home and reunion with her Stepdad. Rest in Eternal Peace, Maria. You will be missed. God Bless

On behalf of the Cultural Interpretive Society we are sending our condolences to the family. Even though Maria was a new member we all enjoyed her enthusiasm and vibrant personality. She was a great asset to our group. She will be missed.

On behalf of all the volunteers of the USCC Cultural Interpretive Society, I would like to express our profound sadness upon learning of Maria’s passing. Maria came into our lives for a short time, but during the season that she spent volunteering with us in the local Castlegar community, her involvement in our work showed her sincere compassion for the recipients of our community charitable projects. Maria was a very generous person, giving of her time and talent. We will miss Maria.

We extend our deepest condolences to Maria’s husband, Wade and her loving family. May she rest in peace in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.

Wade – my heart is broken as I just found out about Maria’s passing. My mom and I and all our Boston family are sending you our love and prayers. Maria was such a bright light and her spirit so genuine and loving. I now treasure a jewelry set she made me years ago when you visited Boston. I have always kept it and will now wear it in her memory. Wade – we send you our love and condolences. RIP Maria ❤️❤️

Wade, this evening have we just learned of Maria’s passing. Rob and I are absolutely devastated. We will always cherish our fond memories of when we first met Maria years ago and the lovely chats we had about our similar interests over cups of tea while she was doing our tiling. We loved visiting and catching up with you both a couple summers ago you made us feel so welcome. We send you our love and condolences.
