Mary Pozdnekoff

Pozdnekoff Mary Oct

Mary Pozdnekoff passed away suddenly on October 11, 2021 in the Kelowna hospital. She was born in Nelson BC on March 21, 1941.

Mary is survived by her daughter Donna, son Fred Jr (Rhonda) and several other dear family members and friends.  She is predeceased by her husband Fred, of 57 years, sister Florence and brothers William and Walter.

Mary was always on the go throughout her life, touching the hearts of many with her kind nature and sharing ways.  She worked in retail, as a bookkeeper, and at the Castlegar Health Unit for 18 years before retiring.

Mary had several talents and passions. Among her favourites, were creating and adding artistic flares to her ever-changing sewing, quilting and knitting projects, as well as fine-tuning her culinary skills in the kitchen.  She loved the outdoors, gardening, watching sports, going to live concerts at the park, road trips and talking to people she met along the way.

She will be dearly missed.

A private service will be held at a later date.

I was saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. I enjoyed conversations with her during morning walks along 6th Avenue. She rarely missed a day! She also was a dedicated supporter of our community choir.

My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. We were neighbours back in the 70’s and have since moved back here. Your mom was such a kind and friendly lady, always up for a chat when we met up. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to your family.

Very sad to hear of Mary’s passing. I met Mary thru the quilting guild. Mary was multi talented, and very willing to share her expertise in all things sewn, knitted and machine embroidered. Our family will cherish the beautiful socks knitted by Mary. RIP dear friend.

Farewell to my dear friend and mentor.

A cup of tea, homemade baking and a welcome smile were always available at her home.
