Swetlikoff, Florence

Swetlikoff Florence Crop

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Florence Swetlikoff.

Florence leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, George; four children and nine grandchildren. Debbie Rybalka and daughters Victoria and Amelia; Connie Shevchenko and daughter Alexandra;  son Garrett and Tammy and children, Jordan, Jenna and Alexander; son Lorne and Karen and daughters, Katarina, Ella and Ava.

Florence was a dedicated lifelong member of the USCC.  She participated in many choirs, committees, and supported all USCC functions.  Florence loved gardening and had a spectacular green thumb and she gardened to her last day.  She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her home hungry.

Florence touched many lives. She authentically cared for all people and her positivity and kindness shone through in her lovely smile. She was extremely devoted to family and community and made everyone she met feel special.

The family would like to sincerely thank everyone for the flowers, cards, emails, phone calls and wonderful food, Also, thank you to Bill Strelaeff and staff at Castlegar Funeral Chapel and Peter Zaytsoff for their excellent and caring guidance and direction of the funeral service; and all those that helped with preparing Florence’s final resting place.

Thank you to everyone for all of your love, support and kindness during this difficult time; we are extremely grateful to all
